Welcome to Esspree, home of the English and Welsh Springer Spaniel.  
My name is Julie Hiscott, and I live in Perth, Western Australia, where our family operates a modern, state‑of‑the‑art boarding kennel ( Best Buddies Boarding Kennels) licensed for fifty dogs and surrounded by lush green gardens. I share my lifelong love of dogs with my daughter, Karen, and my husband, David.


English Springer Spaniels have been my heart breed for over 40 years. My journey began under the prefix Springdale, and today we proudly continue under the name Esspree. In 2012, we welcomed our first Welsh Springer Spaniel into our lives — and it truly was love at first sight.

Over the years we have invested in importing top quality dogs and bloodlines from Poland and New Zealand enhancing the genepool in Australia, bringing impeccable temperaments and providing top quality English Springer Spaniels to the conformation show ring and pet homes 


Our dogs are not only show dogs but cherished members of our household. A few of our special companions now live with dedicated families, and we remain committed to them for life. The same devotion applies to every puppy we breed. We breed rarely, and only with the intention of keeping a puppy ourselves. Our focus is always on preserving the breed standard and moving forward only with dogs who represent true, correct type and temperament.


All breeding stock undergoes the necessary medical and genetic testing to ensure the health and future of both breeds.


Our current show team enjoyed a fantastic year in 2025, and we are excited for what the 2026 season will bring.


Across the decades, our wonderful dogs — past and present — have enriched our lives beyond measure and brought us lifelong friendships we deeply treasure.
